Frequently asked questions

Where do the words come from?
They are drawn from a built-in list of common, family-friendly English words that ships with the tool. Because the list is bundled in, the generator works instantly and keeps working even if you go offline.
Can I get words of a certain length or starting letter?
Yes. You can limit the draw to short, medium or long words, and ask only for words beginning with a particular letter. If no words match your filters, the tool tells you instead of returning nothing.
Can the same word appear twice?
By default each word in a batch is different. Turn on "Allow repeats" if you do want the same word to be able to come up more than once in a single draw.
Is the result actually random?
Yes. Picks, spins, rolls and shuffles use your browser’s built-in random number source, so every option has the same chance each time. There is no hidden weighting and no memory of past results, so a run of the same answer is just chance, not a pattern.
Does anything I enter get sent to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. The names, options, images or beats you put in are handled on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is logged or stored. Once the page has loaded, it keeps working even if you go offline.
